Imagine you an evening while sitting on a private balcony, with a glass of red wine in the hand looking out over the fields of Rioja. Sounds great right? That’s what you get at Finca de Los Arandinos, a stunning minimalistic design hotel made of concrete, glass and wood, in harmony with the green natural environment. Designed by Javier Arizcuren, situated in the middle of the vineyards and olive groves, a quiet place with personal attention and excellent facilities.
This hotel is intended to relax and enjoy the immediate surroundings. Located in the Rioja region of Spain, rural, but only a stone’s throw from many bodegas, picturesque villages and the larger city of Logroño, which we visited earlier.
The interior, designed by fashion designer David Delfín, is playful and modern. All rooms are decorated in a minimalistic style and offer a great view over the vineyards and olive groves. There are different room types in the hotel which you can book, we stayed in: ‘David Delfín‘ the standard room located in the left wing of the hotel.
‘David Delfin‘ offers an original concept where optimal use is made of the minimum square meters. With, among other things, a ‘fold-out’ bathroom, of which all elements are hidden in cupboards, a shower that folds itself and a workstation built in a cupboard that serves also as a room divider.
If you would like to experience the whole relaxation-treatment of the hotel, then you can even enjoy the luxurious spa. Because we were with our three-year-old daughter, we skipped it, otherwise we would certainly had used it.
The Tierra restaurant in the hotel serves a fine breakfast and lovely dinner in the evening with traditional La Rioja dishes prepared with local products. During the weekend, Los Arandinos organizes also wine tasting and tours for bigger groups.
If you want to relax in the middle of the Spanish vineyards, then this hotel is a great place to stay. And even if this is not primarily a hotel where you would go with children, because it’s a ‘relax hotel‘, we have experienced this place with our three-year-old daughter as very pleasant. Especially the surrounding fields are wonderful to walk through and to spot many bunnies.
After two nights at hotel Los Arandinos our trip through Spain had come to an end. The days passed by, but we could definitely look back on a great time in this beautiful country. Time to continue our journey back towards France, where we would spend the last days of our holiday in the Périguex. Soon more about this place on the blog.
