After a long drive from the countryside we arrived in surfing paradise Byron Bay. Such a wonderful place to be, immediately upon arrival you experience an ultimate relaxed vibe. Surfers with boards under their arm, families with children, older couples hand in hand. The public is diverse, it seems that Byron Bay is a place for everyone. A great place for good surf, beautiful beaches and a cozy town centre where you can stroll around and sit down at one of the many trendy eateries.

We stayed at Suffolk Beachfront Holiday Park, a bit outside the centre of Byron Bay. A nice campsite and less than 100 metres from the beach, perfect when you’re with children. The Holiday Park was equipped with sufficient facilities and a perfect place when you want to sit quietly in the evening in front of your tent or camper van. No partying teenagers around, but mainly older couples and families. Something we very much preferred during our camper trip with our four-year-old daughter.

When you’re staying around Byron Bay you can choose between many beaches, we mainly went to the one close to our camping as this one was very quiet and perfect to play and swim in the sea. If you prefer to surf than you can find perfect surf beaches close to Byron Bay Beach, which is only a short 10 minutes drive from Suffolk Park.

We alternated the evenings with bbq’s at the campsite or dinner at the nearby Suffolk Park or Byron Bay. Ended with a beautiful walk on the beach, where we watched the sun set down into the sea. A nice moment together and so silent, cooling and soothing. With only on certain moments some guitar play at the background.

Byron Bay is not only a popular destination to spend your holiday, you might even want to live there. And that says enough..
