If you like coffee and an old school pinball game, then you should definitely pay a visit to Chief Coffee in Chiswick. A bit hidden, but not to be missed. In a side street at the Turnham Green Terrace you’ll find this cool spot, where the owner has been able to combine his interest in roasted beans and vintage arcade machines in a unique style.

Upon arrival, the tasteful interior immediately stands out, the atmosphere is laid-back and the service friendly. The number of MacBooks on the tables shows that this place is also popular among the many freelancers in Chiswick and the surrounding area. Secretly I saw myself already sitting there as well. But now we came for something else: pinball.

After we ordered some coffee and soda at the bar we moved downstairs to the basement of the cafe where you’ll find the Pinball Lounge. An open space with nine old school pinball machines and a seating corner with matching furniture. Each game counts several rounds and costs £1. If you don’t have coins you can exchange biljets in the exchange machine on the wall.

After a few serious competitions, with the highest score for my daughter of course, we got back upstairs where we treated ourselves with one of the many extensive bakery products which you can find at the bar. Lara chose for a delicious glazed cinnamon roll, which reminded me a bit of the ‘Zeeuwse Bolus‘ from Holland, but that aside.
