London Zoo

If you are in Rotterdam, than you visit Diergaarde Blijdorp. As a child I often came to this zoo and in recent years the park has been expanded with a whole new section and a beautiful oceanic building. A long period passed where a visit to the zoo was minimized until our daughter was born. It’s so wonderful to visit the zoo with your little one. Now that we have moved to London, a visit to the London Zoo should not be missed.

The park is located in the North of Regent’s Park and is managed by the Zoological Society of London. The Park, which is almost two centuries old, opened it’s doors in 1828 for scientific research, in 1947 the park became accessible to the public.

Don’t come too close to the lama’s. You will be warned about spitting.
Discover the animals in the Asian zone.
Follow the trails through the lion residence and admire the lions very close.

The London Zoo comprises a total of 760 different animals species spread across different areas. All of these areas are carefully decorated. Strikingly I found the lion residence, the botanical garden with bird cages and the penguin residence.

The London Zoo organises a lot of educational expeditions, tours and activities for all ages. And if you like tension and sensation and want a special experience, book one night at the Gir Lion Lodges. Discover what happened at night in the London Zoo, with all the animals around you.

The penguin area looks like a big swimming pool where you want to jump in.

Between the green, you will find these beautiful flamingo’s.

The Aquarium is separated into three different halls, which are home to different types of fish.

Our first visit to this park had made us decide to subscribe. In the upcoming period we definitely will come often to this place.
