The Harrington Collection: our serviced accommodation in London

The first month we stayed in a serviced accommodation in South Kensington, called The Harrington Collection. A nice (from the outside) old style building in the heart of Kensington and Chelsea, London, close to Gloucester underground station and many busstations.

The Harrington Collection offers luxury apartments for the short and long term. We got a nice serviced apartment on the fifth floor, which means we had a really nice view of Kensington and Chelsea.

This fancy neighbourhood, located at the border of Kensington and Chelsea, provides access to exclusive restaurants, cozy pubs, Royal parks as Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, beautiful boutiques in chic Knightbridge and High Street Kensington and capital’s main museums as Victoria and Albert Museum, Science Museum and National History Museum on the Exhibition Road.

The Harrington Collection has 85 luxurious apartments, 45 serviced apartments for short or long term let and 40 serviced residences for long term lets. We stayed in one of the serviced apartments for 30 days.

Our apartment had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living/dining room and a fully equiped kitchen. Everyday there was housekeeping, which I had to get used to in the beginning. But of course, in the end it is nice.

We had a great stay, the apartment was fully equipped and we had a lot of space. The interior I only founded a little dated, bit of 90’s style. For what you pay per night, it may be a bit more luxurious in my opinion. By chance, I spoke to the Sales Director and he told me that they are currently planning a complete redevelopment. All apartments will have a fresh new look on the short term.

In the end we had a great stay. Lara also, she even made friends with the Reception Team. Everytime we entered the lobby downstairs, she swam exuberantly and greeted everyone enthusiastically. Lara repeatedly found out that they were playing hide and seek with her. While Lara was counted to ten, they crept under their desk. When we are in South Kensington again, we will certainly walk in to say ‘hi’.

Our evening view from the living room. Here you can see the intersection between Gloucester Road and Stanhope Gardens.

During our stay in South Kensington, I explored the area with my daughter. And in the weekends also with Ralf. You can read more about our daily trips here.
